Podcasts for Machine Knitters Episode 1

Hi!  Welcome to Podcasts for Machine Knitters… I hope you enjoy what we do here.  These are free podcasts and I intend to keep them that way.  If you don’t know me, that is OK!  I am Heather T. often known as isrbrown in machine knitting forums.  I have been machine knitting for 8 or 9 years now and I love it.   I want to talk about it.  I want to talk to others about it.  I hope you enjoy the discussions here.

New to podcasting I cannot guarantee my quality let me know what you think!  Special thanks to those folks that contribute to or have commented on the podcasts.  I couldn’t do this without help and support!

If you are interested in becoming part of these podcasts please let me know!  I am looking for new ideas and folks who want to talk about their machine knitting.  We can discuss machine virtues, patterns, designers, fiber and well anything that comes up.

So You wanted to listen to the podcast?  Click that little blue er uhm purple square at the top of this post.

Hi Heather! Saw your link I think it was on the Bond – Mklist. Great job on the podcast!

My husband and I do a coffee podcast. My advice is to (to avoid burnout) do the podcast in whatever way that fits in with your lifestyle – 1 a week, 2 a week, 1 a month, whatever. For a little bit of revenue, you might look into Google adsense and/or become an Ebay affiliate (gotta love those old MK magazines & pattern books on ebay when you have an old machine!) I would be very excited about new patterns, too.

I just listened to the first episode, and it sounded great. I have 2 bond ISMs and an old Singer standard guage – all of which I want to learn to master. I’ve had them for several years and haven’t got beyond the basics (mainly because there are so many crafts that I try to do all at once). I look forward to listening to your podcasts and trying techniques.

I thought it was neat that you mentioned how hearing the passion in the voices of the MK teachers can be so inspiring. I had never thought about that.

Best wishes on your knitting and podcasting!

I am an MK novice. I really enjoyed your knitting room tour. I am going to look at the other podcasts. Thank you very much for setting this up.

I liked your mock-seaming video – good description of what you will use the technique for – would like to have you give other examples of what you could use this technique for in your next video showing your finished piece. I am very glad you are doing this! Thanks!!

P.S. I have a pattern from the web that is for joining panels of a blanket by using eyelets along the sides and attaching the next panel creating a braid effect. It was a free pattern from someone in the Yahoo group – could you demonstrate that technique in the future? Just a thought – would also like socks demonstrated. There is another Youtube video for socks, but it goes too fast for me to understand what she is doing.

Thanks again for doing these videos – it helps so much to see someone do the techniques instead of just reading about them!
