Podcasts for Machine Knitters Episode 4

<<<This is the podcast!  I had a visit from a friend.  We decided to have a conversation.  Sorry no pictures for this one BUT… I do have a recipe to share. Chinese Style Black Bean & Garlic Ribs
1 Package of Ribs
1 bottle Black Bean & Garlic Sauce OR 1 Bottle Black Bean Sauce and Fresh Garlic finely chopped  (find the sauce in the chinese food section or a chinese grocers)
Heat oven to 400 degrees Place ribs in foil lined pan and massage Black Bean & Garlic Sauce into and on the ribs on all sides, seal pan tightly with foil.Insert into oven for 15-30 minutes then reduce heat to 300 or 350 degrees depending on the speed at which you want them cooked.  300 degrees will give you 3 hours of knitting time for desired level of falling off the bone meat.

Serve with Side dishes of Nishiki Rice & Steamed Broccoli and Yumm!

A pattern is mentioned for HK but there is a pattern available on the web that I reccomend Machine Knitting folks try if they haven’t already.  Its an opportunity to look at gauge/tension and garment construction.  And its small so its not a huge project just something fun to try.

I am waiting for permission to share the link so I’ll update this later!

wow – you published the recipe – cool!

One note for the recipe — the last 20 minutes of roasting the ribs, remove the top foil to allow them to “brown”. BE CAREFUL when removing the top foil, as a lot of very hot steam is trapped inside.

Also… Heather was not TOTALLY homest about the time – at least with regard to knitting time. You see…. the smell from the roasting ribs is so incredibly luscious that it is almost impossible to do anything but drool for the last half hour of roasting. That’s usually when I make the rice and steam the broccoli. :-)

    ENjoy!

oops – a funny typo in my comment…. “homest” should be “honest”

OMG!!! I forgot about the fumes. They are almost as good as fiber fumes but this fume has the potential of filling ones belly.
    Definetly need to fix this

I have throughly enjoyed listening to the podcasts and hope that you continue. I own 6 Bond machines (including the original “Blue” that I purchased in Europe when it was released), Singer/Studio (301 and 700 plus ribbers for each) and a Passap 6000 (complete with bells and whistles). And I know that there are at least 3-4 other machines lurking about.

Heather, I have listened to and enjoyed each of the podcasts now. I might become an addict. I don’t have any suggestions yet, but I’m still thinking on it. I would like to hear other views on different types of fiber and the pros and cons of each. I’m just beginning to branch out and I’d like ideas since it’s so hard to pay for something and then find out that you don’t like it. At least with the pros and cons listed and several viewpoints we can make informed decisions.
    Thanks again.
